I took a break from blogging for awhile.  Just lazy.  Since I last blogged I ran the Disney World Marathon in 3 hours and 31 minutes.  Then I ran the Last Chance for Boston Marathon in Dublin, OH on Feb 18th in a time of 3 hours and 34 minutes.

2 Days to go!

Published by admin | Filed under Uncategorized

Oh boy! It going to be hot. The same temperature as Grandma’s in Duluth. Really, too hot to be running 26.2 miles. However, I’m going to do it. Through pain, heat and discomfort I will finish this race and give it 110%.

My family and I went on vacation last week to South Carolina then to the Smoky Mountains.  It was great.  However, running was tough.  I gained some weight and didn’t follow the schedule for a week.  Back at it this week.

Thursday Tempo

Published by admin | Filed under Uncategorized

I’m catching up on some ports from the past several days.
On Thursday, Brian and I ran a 5 mile tempo run at projected marathon pace.  We both ran it very fast.  My pace was 7:27 for the five miles, which is the pace I hope to run Chicago.   The tempo run was difficult.  At the [...]

Moderate consistant calorie intake

Published by admin | Filed under Uncategorized

I have a theory.  Our bodies are made to use current eating habits to predict future caloric needs.  Typically, our society eats three meals a day.  Sometimes, these can be big meals.  Our bodies store the energy as fat to use as energy in between meals.  However, we eat more calories than we need during [...]
