Integrating Facebook, Twitter and WordPress

A client of mine(www.sunoven.com – neither my company or I designed or built the site) is a manufacturer of solar ovens.  We are building a WordPress site for two purposes, one to promote contests and another to post daily solar cooking recipes.  Sun Oven has both a Twitter and Facebook account for which they want to alert their friends and followers of new blog posts.

I’ve installed the Twitter Tools plugin to publish blog posts to Twitter, then installed the Twitter Facebook app to publish twitter posts to Facebook.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

BBC News – Egypt crisis: President Hosni Mubarak resigns as leader.

This is really exciting.  The common people, young people making a difference in their country.  I pray for continued peace in Egypt and Tunisia during transition to a government chosen by the people.

Just launched a WordPress site

This past Sunday evening we launched a WordPress site using the Thematic theme framework.  This is our first main corporate site built on WordPress.  Our client seems very happy with the ability to edit just about any part of the site.

WordPress Thematic Childtheme development

I’ve been building a couple WordPress web sites using the Thematic WordPress theme template.  Very cool.  Using a child theme, I can modify the Thematic theme to do or look like anything that I want.  Overtime, I hope to modify this web site with child themes.  As I learn, I will share some of my finding here on this site.

Eating my own dog food

I’ve installed, configured and customized a few WordPress web sites.  However, with the new WordPress 3.0, I’m really excited about recommending WordPress to my clients and friends.  Therefore, it’s time to get serious about using WordPress.  Therefore, this is my playground and soap box.  I’m looking forward to exploring the power of Worpress and learning how it can be used to benefit my clients.
